So today was an adventure. My mom woke me up at 9:30 am (after going to sleep around 5:00 am the previous night) and after showering and having a snack we headed off to Downtown L.A. to the fashion district. The drive was rather annoying because I was barely driving around 70 mph, yet my mom was freaking out that I was driving over the speed limit… And she was also freaking out that I was driving in the far left lane. Something about it being difficult to get out of that lane if something happened to the car… It made me laugh.
Anyways. We got to the fashion district and spent about two hours there browsing. I found some “OK” boots for Yoko, and because I couldn’t find anything better I just bought them – because hell, they actually had my size for once. These don’t have as high heels as I would have liked, but oh well. I also bought more beads for the bikini top, hair chopsticks, and clips (all for $1 each). With that, I had everything that I needed (except for paints for the boots, and whatever I’ll need to buy for my gun…) I felt relieved…
On our way back to the car we stopped by one of the major wig stores and asked about clip on bangs (I had this in mind for my Maka cosplay). Thankfully they had some that fit my hair color, and it was only $10, so we grabbed it. [...]
Ahh, I did not realize it was already 4:30. x_x Wow, I spent a long time working on stuff. Lol. @_@
Anyways. I got a lot done tonight, I think! First off, I practically finished my Yoko bikini top. =D All that’s left to do now is to sew the bottom part of the red onto the bikini. Right now I just have it taped up to the back, but the design and everything is sewn in. ^-^ I tried it on and it looks pretty nice too. :3 I think I put the flame a little too high up, but eh.. I had no choice. I had to cover up the little fold the bikini had. =/ I doubt people will pick on me for that anyways… well hopefully. I can always redo it later. I’m happy with it.
I also tested to make sure the beads fit onto the red string, and they fit perfectly. So as soon as I finish everything on the bikini, I’ll find the perfect length, cut the string and add the beads. ^-^ I just can’t decide if I want to paint them orange or leave them yellow. >.> Kerry says they’re red, but I’ve seen them as yellow and orange mostly, and a few times red.. So yesterday Kerry and I hung out. xD We were supposed to go blading, but the place he had in mind didn’t rent out blades, only skates. :c Fail. Oh well. My mom gave us a $50 Cheesecake Factory giftcard so we went to om nom there. She was like, “Oh I doubt you’ll use the whole thing,” but lmao we ended up using $53. o.o” We hung out afterwards at my place. xD
After he knocked out I worked on embedding the AniMaid Café commercial onto the site. It wasn’t supposed to take me as long as it did, but I kept running into problems. First Flash was being really picky regarding video format, and then once I got that working… I didn’t know how to use Actionscript 3.0 to make the play button work. My first decision was to just use Actionscript 2.0 instead on the .fla, but then the video wouldn’t work or something… so I had to go back to Actionscript 3.0 and learn how to apply actions to a button, since applying it directly to the object didn’t want to work.
So I got that working… Next problem was embedding it onto the layout itself. First the <div> layers and whatnot were messing up and pissing me off. They just weren’t working, but after a good half hour I figured out what was wrong and got it working. Then the most annoying part of the night… Once I actually got everything placed properly… the embedded Flash [...]
I love how strongly music can effect your mood… whether it changes your mood or simply adds onto your mood. I wasn’t in the best of moods earlier, but now I’m feeling a bit more strong willed. If I were to give my current “mood” a motto, it’d be “fawk the world! I’ll conquer it!” Haha. I feel like I can do anything right now. I just need to get off my butt and start working. I don’t have time after all. =P Tonight I have to make a list of the last things I need to order for my cosplay and get the orders out so I don’t have to pay a lot for quick shipping, heh. No time for anything!
Tomorrow is a get together, don’t know if I’ll be going. Part of me wants to go, part of me doesn’t. My true self is saying, “no, you shouldn’t go. It’ll only end up bad for you.” but my current self is screaming out, “screw it! Just go! Go wild!” Haha. I feel so crazy right now. I feel like smashing some stuff with a bat or something. o.o’

Oh man, Anime Expo is just around the corner! It doesn’t really feel like it though… >_> It feels like it’s still like a month away or something, when in reality I have barely a week to finish preparing! Eep! At least I pretty much have everything for Yoko except the damn boots. D: I need to go back to Downtown L.A. sometime to check the fashion district one more time for some boots I can use… I probably won’t be as picky this time, considering how little time I have left… Gah. I just hate how every time I go, I’ll find the perfect boots, but they won’t have the right size ever. >_<
Today I’m going to work on altering the parts of my cosplay, try to get the gloves and bikini top down for sure. I got my belt and buckle in the mail today, so I can work on that as well. I also have to decide today on which styrene plastic sheet I want to order, as well as finding a cheap bipod for my rifle… I really hope that guy’s going to get me those wood cuts on time, if not.. well then I’m screwed. :C And I’ll be a sad Yoko without a cool gun. T_T”
