Oops, I haven’t posted in way too long! I guess I’ll try to recap everything that’s gone on this past week.
ast weekend as some of you may know/remember, was MikomiCon. I didn’t get to spend too much time there, but there were a few things that were really awesome. I discovered that on our way to the convention that my gun’s magazine and pistol had broken off my gun. I was pretty upset because I was looking forward to showing off my revamped gun and hopefully getting a photoshoot done with Magume as Kamina. I tried to take it to the convention with me, but they fell right off.. So decided it was time to take it back to the car after all. My friend Impulse offered for us to go to his house and possibly try to fix the gun up with hot glue, so we took the offer.
Once we got there though, he unfortunately couldn’t find his hot glue gun. ><” So we just decided that the gun would take a break, haha. We stopped by at 7-11 and grabbed slurpies and headed back to the convention. Kerry, Impulse, Carl, Kat, and a few others were hanging out together at MikomiCon. Got a few pictures taken, inlcuding the one on the right (taken by Cephas of cosplay.com). I “met” Tim Vo for the first time and saw April again (another Yoko cosplayer – wonderful one at that), which was nice. Didn’t really get to talk to [...]
My dad woke me up around 8:30 am today so that we could go pick up my mom from the hospital. it’s really nice having my mom back at home with us. Though I do feel really bad for her because she still can’t see properly, still has balance problems, and sometimes has some issues with speaking… but for the most part she’s fine. All day today though I’ve constantly felt like it’s two hours later. Even now I feel like it’s 4:00 am or something, haha.
I finished off another commission today finally, so I only have two left for now! From the references I was provided, the character seemed rather silly.. so I immediately had this sort of pose/idea pop into my mind… I think it came out cute.. I hope Hean likes it. :3
Today was an extremely busy day.. I honestly don’t remember the last time I’ve felt this exhausted/tired by the end of the day. Ava spent the night at my house last night and well, we ended up staying up ’til about 4:00am just talking, venting, and catching up on life. I ended up actually getting to sleep around 4:30-5:00…
I set my alarm for 8:00am and somehow it actually managed to wake me up (I usually sleep through alarms); unfortunately I passed out immediately afterwards, haha. My mom thankfully woke me up about ten minutes later so I got up, showered, and Ava and I ate our breakfast… We left my house around 9:15am to head towards downtown Los Angeles. Mokona then txted me saying she’d be late, which complicated things because I didn’t want to pay for parking twice…
We ended up kind of driving around downtown pointlessly until I decided we would just try to find metered parking around the fashion district. After walking around for a bit, we then headed to Union Station to pick Mokona up. Fabric shopping was next.. found a couple of “ok” things for my cosplay. After we finished shopping for fabrics, we stopped by Little Tokyo to grab a bite.
