Man today was a tiring day… I began the day by waking up early and studying my Kanji for the quiz today in Japanese 2. I got them all down pretty quickly, whch was pretty surprising. Psychology today was very interesting. The lecture was about the big bang, and man… it just felt like it tied in with my Geology class so well. My class was let out early, so I immediately went back to studying my Kanji… I finally got everything down pretty well and felt like I could work on other homework, so I began coming up with designs for my Art Design class. Finished that and then spent the rest of my break studying again.
My Kanji quiz went very well, I’m pretty sure I did very well (if not aced it). We went over our new vocabulary, and damn.. there’s a lot I’m going to have to memorize. But hey, I want to learn this language so I have to keep up the dedication and work hard.
When I got home I checked my mail immediately and whoo! My Sheryl Nome earring came in.. I was uber excited. I immediately took pictures (they’re not the best pictures of me, but their purpose is to just show the earring) – and I gotta say I love it a lot. My school semester began this weekend, which explains my absence from posting this week. I’m taking four classes: Art Design, Geology, Psychology, and Japanese 2. They all seem pretty cool so far, the teachers all seem nice.
Art Design: I took Art Design back when I was at Orange Coast College (for the one month I attended), and I’ve got to say I like this class a lot more than the other one. The other one, I just felt like I was completely wasting my time – it was pretty much all magazine cut and paste projects (it felt like I was back in elementary school). This class, although the general concept is the same – understand lines and color, it’s a lot more loose and artist-friendly. We’re going to be drawing things composed entirely out of lines, but the teacher said that we can make our entire portfolio whatever subject we want, basically anything that’ll help us in the future. Cool~
This weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday I cooked some chicken curry for Kerry, which turned out pretty good. We went to Little Tokyo to a nice restaurant to hang out with all our AniMaid Café friends to say goodbye to Chiyo! It was a ton of fun, but it was very sad knowing we won’t be seeing Chiyo for a while.
Saturday was the Anime Expo Forum Little Tokyo Meet & Greet (long title), which was totally epic. We spent a lot of the earlier day fixing up his Soul wig and just kind of loafing around. It took me forever to get my faux eyelashes on, but eventually I got them on the way I liked them. =3 When we first arrived, people told me, “go buy a leek!” Luckily enough we were right next to a super market.. I ran in and Hayley and I bought a leeks, haha. So I had fun waving it around all day. =D
What was funny was that people actually asked for our pictures… Haha, I mean I understand it with Kerry being Soul, but I was like fake Miku. XD Quite a few people recognized me too, it was pretty cool. XD My leek eventually broke, but Kerry was nice enough to ask the guy at the bookstore to give us some tape to repair it.. :3 The guy was probably like “wtf”. xD Dinner was really nice, filling, and yummy~ People seemed to like my cookies, so [...]
irst off, today feels like a very nice day. To begin when I woke up I immediately checked my e-mail as usual, and I had received a reply to my complaint about the wig. Here’s what I sent to the seller last night:
“After spending about half an hour trying to adjust the ponytail to hide the clip, I was unable to ever get it to work right. This is unsatisfactory quality and I definitely could NOT use this for cosplay. There’s so little wig hair that even the back part of the clip (the part that you press to open the comb) sticks out through the hair. Terrible!
Is there any way I can get a replacement? Because this is really unsatisfactory.

I felt pretty bad when I sent it, but it worked out to my advantage. I got two replies from the seller. They follow as:

My dad woke me up around 8:30 am today so that we could go pick up my mom from the hospital. it’s really nice having my mom back at home with us. Though I do feel really bad for her because she still can’t see properly, still has balance problems, and sometimes has some issues with speaking… but for the most part she’s fine. All day today though I’ve constantly felt like it’s two hours later. Even now I feel like it’s 4:00 am or something, haha.
I finished off another commission today finally, so I only have two left for now! From the references I was provided, the character seemed rather silly.. so I immediately had this sort of pose/idea pop into my mind… I think it came out cute.. I hope Hean likes it. :3
hee, I’m happy to say I completed my second commission on my list of commissions-to-do. :3 I’m pretty happy with how this one came out, got a lot of details down pretty well. The pose was pretty fun to do too. Haha~
Today was pretty laid back. I went to the store to do a little grocery shopping as well as stopping by the bank to deposit checks from my mom (to cover groceries I’ve been doing and classes for fall semester). I had enough to be able to buy my two wigs I wanted, and because I’m paranoid they won’t be available later, I decided to grab them… This will be the most expensive “lone” expense for my Miku cosplay anyways, so I should be fine. (Post regarding wig purcahse) Then I just worked on my commission for Zen… Hmm.
Kerry came later tonight and we played some Heroes of Newerth together. Huxley will be out tomorrow (today, since I’m posting at 4:00am rofl) so that’ll be something cool to look forward to. I miss Huxley! Been too long since we’ve played, haha~ Other than that I don’t think I have much to share for now.. I’m too tired to really concentrade haha~
