So after talking with the ebay user, they decided they would send me a whole new wig and ponytails altogether, sweet deal! At least they’re thinking ahead well, cuz they decided to send me the whole thing to avoid color differences between the new ponytails and the old base wig. I’m pretty psyched. I’m going to do one of two things with the new wig. I’ll either just sell off the old one (to someone who is willing to fix it?) or I’ll use the old wig to build up the new one and make it more fuller. =3 The wig got shipped today (Sunday night as in Monday in China haha). I can’t wait to get it.
I also finally got off my lazy ass and ordered the styrene plastic I will be using to construct the ponytail accessories and my headset! I’m going to have to snag some resistors from Ben for the headset’s LEDs. It’ll be so awesome in the end! I also picked up some a cheap base headset from the swap meet. =] I spray painted that black today, just gotta build up the headphones on them now and color the microphone part of it with two teal rectangles. I’ll probably order my EL wire as soon as I get my plastic, it shouldn’t be too expensive thankfully.
irst off, today feels like a very nice day. To begin when I woke up I immediately checked my e-mail as usual, and I had received a reply to my complaint about the wig. Here’s what I sent to the seller last night:
“After spending about half an hour trying to adjust the ponytail to hide the clip, I was unable to ever get it to work right. This is unsatisfactory quality and I definitely could NOT use this for cosplay. There’s so little wig hair that even the back part of the clip (the part that you press to open the comb) sticks out through the hair. Terrible!
Is there any way I can get a replacement? Because this is really unsatisfactory.

I felt pretty bad when I sent it, but it worked out to my advantage. I got two replies from the seller. They follow as:

So after the long wait, my Miku wigs finally came in… The wavy wig, at first, really upset me because it looks really green and weird in person.. but in photographs it looks beautiful, so I guess that’s all that matters, eh? I really love wearing it, though I’m a little afraid of dancing with it on. Wondering if the curls will undo if I bounce around too much? I guess time will tell… and I can technically learn how to make the curls/wigs to redo them if it does flatten out I guess.
I’ll get better pictures on Saturday at the Anime Expo Forum Meet & Greet. For now these are just some shots that I tried to take by myself. Headset is temporary placeholder, going to make some myself.
My other wig came in today, and I can say I’m really upset with how it is.
Yeah! I just ordered my two wigs for my Miku Hatsune cosplay! I bought a normal one and a second one – wavy hair version. I spent a lot of money, but I think I’ll be very happy with these two wigs! Especially since now I’m set for Miku in more than one way…. for the cosplay itself and the AniMaid Café. I like to call myself the “cosplay maid” because from now on all my maid appearances will be in some sort of cosplay (Yoko or Miku).
My Yoko ponytail was 100cm long, and the Miku ponytails are 120cm… and considering how much trouble I had with the 100cm long ponytail, I don’t think there’s any way I’ll be wanting to dance with two 120cm ponytails, so the wavy version wig is to make up for that.. =3 Plus, I just love how the wavy one looks and I’ll be able to wear that regularly, since it looks fairly comfortable. ^_^
I went to Ross to look for shoes for Miku (and to see if there was anything better for Yoko), but I didn’t have any luck. That’s fine though cuz I’m sure I’ll be going to fashion district quite a few times between now and the next convention~

Today was quite the productive day. I sold a couple of my old English books for some money. So woot, cosplay monies! Mwahaha~ After that I had to go buy my mom some massage ointment for my grandmother, but I got majorly lost while trying to find the store! @_@ By the time I figured out where it was I noticed that the store that I buy my wig heads from was nearby, so I dropped by and bought one for my Miku wig. =3 I mailed out the thing for my grandma and then went to get gas…
Gah. I wanted to get gas at Costco since it’s so cheap…but then I remembered that I don’t have American Express… and I didn’t have enough money on debt to be able to pay… so I ended up going to 76..and then I accidentally went to Full Serve, so it was like $0.40 more per gallon plus I had to pay a tip. @_@ Since they demanded to wash my windows… At least I got away from them checking my oil. x_x
Afterwards I dropped by at Home Depot and bought some PVC Pipes and spray paint for my new Yoko rifle. =3 Need to order some spring hooks (for the gun and my Miku cosplay), and then I’ll be pretty much good to go (for the most part). his weekend was one of my most laid back weekends in a while. On Saturday Kerry and I went to an AXF Get together, which was a lot of fun! Got to see pretty much everyone in one place! Though Hayley didn’t go.. and Maoh was there for so short. D: But otherwise it was a lot of fun. When we got there Cookie was playing some of his techno on the speakers, but then Kerry and I jacked it to play Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, haha~ So Vocaloid music was playing the entire time, practically – since everyone wanted to play the game.
So I’ve decided I’m going to put my Akito/Agito cosplay “on hold” for a while, or at least put it off to the side and focus on my Miku Hatsune cosplay. I’m really excited about it! Going to order my wig within the next few days. I’ve gotta buy some hangers for my wall or something for all these long ponytails (Yoko + Miku Hatsune [x2]) lmao. Right now my Yoko ponytail is hanging in my closet, which I don’t feel all that secure about… I’ve got to work on remaking my gun as well. Gah! So much to do. Been researching some of the materials needed for my Miku cosplay, and damn. I better not mess up, or this will end up being one expensive cosplay.
Tomorrow I better not be lazy, and actually work on stuff. Lol Might as well practice some dances tomorrow too.
Mmm, well after working a bit on commissions today I went out with Kerry, Kchan, and Kyosuke to this BBQ restaurant place. (I already forgot the name, shame on me) It was a lot of fun just hanging out. I miss that. XD Since before AX whenever we hung out it was pretty much about business or whatever. But yeah, Maid Café stuff did come up a few times, but in a light tone and it wasn’t serious at all… We were kind of mainly joking for the most part. XD
Afterwards we went to see Harry Potter. What did I think about it? Pretty cool, though I’m not even sure if I’ve seen all the previous Harry Potter movies, lol. So I was kind of lost through some of it, but for the most part I was set. I thought it was pretty interesting and it passed by quickly; it didn’t have that, “when will this movie be over?” feeling to it. Lol well at least not to me.
Man, I’m like dying because I’m thinking about cosplay nonstop. I’ve been thinking about what I’ll be using for the redesigning/reconstruction of my Yoko rifle, and I’ve also been thinking about how/what I’m going to do for my Vocaloid cosplay!
