ell, I have the photoshoot pictures now! I’m really happy with them! These shots just seem so professional, they amaze me. @_@ I’ve been spoiled with amazing photographers, haha. This shoot has really inspired me to improve myself though… I’m trying to learn to use make up better now and I’m going to be working out more, dieting better, and whatnot to get a better figure. ^_^ It’s really amazing how much cosplay can help someone, hehe. (If you happen to be a cosplayer looking for a photographer, ask Tim Vo or Omar Hussain! They’re both wonderful, as you can see with these beautiful shots!)
To the right is a sketch I worked on for my next mini cosplay project, gothic-lolita Miku. I’m going to be using my wavy wig and black yukata as well as making little accessories for the ponytails. I’m going to look into purchasing tattoo paper so I can design myself something for my cheek. I need to get some shoes and some cute socks, and possibly buy some mini bows to enhance a few spots (ie; socks). Really looking forward to getting this look down, though I need to figure out what kind of make up would look good with it.
Working on AniMaid Café stuff and commissions now, as well as juggling school work, so busy! And I just realized I need to finish writing the step-by-step tutorial of my gun, though I ended up not getting progress pictures of the end steps.. >_> Oops, but [...]
Oops, I haven’t posted in way too long! I guess I’ll try to recap everything that’s gone on this past week.
ast weekend as some of you may know/remember, was MikomiCon. I didn’t get to spend too much time there, but there were a few things that were really awesome. I discovered that on our way to the convention that my gun’s magazine and pistol had broken off my gun. I was pretty upset because I was looking forward to showing off my revamped gun and hopefully getting a photoshoot done with Magume as Kamina. I tried to take it to the convention with me, but they fell right off.. So decided it was time to take it back to the car after all. My friend Impulse offered for us to go to his house and possibly try to fix the gun up with hot glue, so we took the offer.
Once we got there though, he unfortunately couldn’t find his hot glue gun. ><” So we just decided that the gun would take a break, haha. We stopped by at 7-11 and grabbed slurpies and headed back to the convention. Kerry, Impulse, Carl, Kat, and a few others were hanging out together at MikomiCon. Got a few pictures taken, inlcuding the one on the right (taken by Cephas of cosplay.com). I “met” Tim Vo for the first time and saw April again (another Yoko cosplayer – wonderful one at that), which was nice. Didn’t really get to talk to [...]
Blaahh, I’m so tired. I’m about ready to crash. T-T” This weekend was pretty much filled with playing Aion, haha… I think it was Thursday that Kerry and I started playing? Or was it Wednesday? I forgot and I’m too lazy to look back in my logs. I think Wed… Thursday if I recall I was lagging like crazy and couldn’t do anything at all. On Friday Kerry came over and we were playing it together, and we were both lagging for a long time… but after resetting all three routers at my dad’s computer, I managed to fix the connection. Saturday was filled with playing Aion, and.. yeah.. Today I played a little bit too, but not nearly as much.
Fun game. Still a lot to get used to though.. and I’m trying to see what ranger and cleric are like. Otherwise, rawr. Gonna be preordering a Collector’s if possible (for in-game benefits), and will be looking forward to playing it this upcoming weekend.
I almost finished Rhgenkoba’s first commission. I’ll finish it up tomorrow morning / after class tomorrow.. I’m way too tired to finishi it up right now.. I’ll just make it sloppy, haha. But yeah it’s like 95-98% complete, yay go me! I’ll be posting it up tomorrow.

I began the reconstruction of my Yoko sniper rifle today… Oh man, I didn’t even do much to it yet today but my hands are in pain… Lol. So far all I’ve done is take the wood core of the butt off the main pipe of the gun… I had to remove all of the styrene plastic off of it, which was incredibly tedious because of ho well I glued it on there originally.. Heh.
I need to get this redone by next Saturday/Sunday for the Nisei week festival… so I have about a week to get it done, which doesn’t sound too hard at all. My clips already came in, so I’m pretty much set for the cosplay. =] So now it’s just a matter of time of putting everything together and being patient with paint layers and whatnot~
Here’s my leftover material from when I first made the gun… Well, I had to buy a few pipes, but the total cost of new materials was around $11. (New 1 1/4″ PVC pipe, new 1 1/2″ PVC pipe, spray paint, and a few connectors. Still have to buy a new connector and reducer.)
Mmm, well after working a bit on commissions today I went out with Kerry, Kchan, and Kyosuke to this BBQ restaurant place. (I already forgot the name, shame on me) It was a lot of fun just hanging out. I miss that. XD Since before AX whenever we hung out it was pretty much about business or whatever. But yeah, Maid Café stuff did come up a few times, but in a light tone and it wasn’t serious at all… We were kind of mainly joking for the most part. XD
Afterwards we went to see Harry Potter. What did I think about it? Pretty cool, though I’m not even sure if I’ve seen all the previous Harry Potter movies, lol. So I was kind of lost through some of it, but for the most part I was set. I thought it was pretty interesting and it passed by quickly; it didn’t have that, “when will this movie be over?” feeling to it. Lol well at least not to me.
Man, I’m like dying because I’m thinking about cosplay nonstop. I’ve been thinking about what I’ll be using for the redesigning/reconstruction of my Yoko rifle, and I’ve also been thinking about how/what I’m going to do for my Vocaloid cosplay! I think I’ve settled on doing Miku Hatsune, mainly because I just love her color scheme – teal! Gah! My favorite color! @w@” So yeah. XD I might actually start working on some of that, since it shouldn’t be too expensive to [...]
So today was an adventure. My mom woke me up at 9:30 am (after going to sleep around 5:00 am the previous night) and after showering and having a snack we headed off to Downtown L.A. to the fashion district. The drive was rather annoying because I was barely driving around 70 mph, yet my mom was freaking out that I was driving over the speed limit… And she was also freaking out that I was driving in the far left lane. Something about it being difficult to get out of that lane if something happened to the car… It made me laugh.
Anyways. We got to the fashion district and spent about two hours there browsing. I found some “OK” boots for Yoko, and because I couldn’t find anything better I just bought them – because hell, they actually had my size for once. These don’t have as high heels as I would have liked, but oh well. I also bought more beads for the bikini top, hair chopsticks, and clips (all for $1 each). With that, I had everything that I needed (except for paints for the boots, and whatever I’ll need to buy for my gun…) I felt relieved…
On our way back to the car we stopped by one of the major wig stores and asked about clip on bangs (I had this in mind for my Maka cosplay). Thankfully they had some that fit my hair color, and it was only $10, so we grabbed it. [...]
Oh man, Anime Expo is just around the corner! It doesn’t really feel like it though… >_> It feels like it’s still like a month away or something, when in reality I have barely a week to finish preparing! Eep! At least I pretty much have everything for Yoko except the damn boots. D: I need to go back to Downtown L.A. sometime to check the fashion district one more time for some boots I can use… I probably won’t be as picky this time, considering how little time I have left… Gah. I just hate how every time I go, I’ll find the perfect boots, but they won’t have the right size ever. >_<
Today I’m going to work on altering the parts of my cosplay, try to get the gloves and bikini top down for sure. I got my belt and buckle in the mail today, so I can work on that as well. I also have to decide today on which styrene plastic sheet I want to order, as well as finding a cheap bipod for my rifle… I really hope that guy’s going to get me those wood cuts on time, if not.. well then I’m screwed. :C And I’ll be a sad Yoko without a cool gun. T_T”
